try to make a new home..

Michael and I have made a new start in life, we have joined each other in the walk of life. On May 19, 2008, Michael and I got married by the justice of the peace; in Vernon Parish, LA. And before we got married we found out that we were pregnant.

So on, May 23, we moved into our new home. A two story, two bedroom, one and half bath house, on post; it's small but it works for us. When we first moved in we had to sleep on our pt mates because we had no bed, then our neighbor allowed us to borrow their air mattress, until the bed we ordered came in.

For a while all we had in the house was a bed, some borrowed folding chairs, a folding table, a toast, a couple cups, and some other little things. These few things in the home, got us by until June 21, when we could go back to Michigan and Indian to get our furniture, clothes, and other belongings. Living off those little things helped, but it was difficult; just like the move back down here from up North.

Because I was pregnant, I couldn't do a lot of driving, us most of the driving was left to Michael. And by the end of the trip he was hurting, but we made it back to LA safely. When we got home we slept for awhile, but the next day we still had to wake up, because we knew the work wasn't over. We had to unpack everything now, it took about three days to get a good majority of the stuff unpacked, but we were in no rush to get everything unpacked. So we didn't put everything away at first. The little bit that we left, we put away a bit at a time. But now it is August, and we finally have almost everything put away.

But the work never ends for a new, growing family. Now that the house is all settled in, it is time to get the babies room ready. Painting the walls (yellow and green), painting the furniture (Ebony black), painting the shelves and small accent pieces (little peacock blue). Along with the painting of the room comes the prepping of the room, the gathering of baby bedding, clothing, stuffed animals, decor', and decorations. It may not sound like a lot, but when you are four months pregnant and still working, it is a lot of work just to try and find the time and energy to do these tasks.

Slowly but surely, Michael and I are battling the baby room and baby shopping, one day at a time. Usually on weekends, we make time to do a little bit of work here and there on the room and we travel a little ways to go shopping for baby gear and maternity clothes.

I know that I promised to write a list of things that Michael and I need and or want for the baby and for ourselves, So here it is. A couple of things we could use for your home is some kitchen appliances (like a blender), receipt book would be nice, a kitchen rug, a swifer for the floor, a dresser for our room, a power drill, a dart board case, bedding (comforter, sheets, blankets, etc.), good bathing towels, window treatments/valences, DVD/VHS player, DVD/CD holder, TV stand, scrapbook supplies: stickers, stamps, templates, albums, etc.. And that is about it for the home, but of course now comes the baby supplies. I have a wedding registry made at target, and somewhere else that I can't remember right now... I will tell you all when I think about it.

Because we have been saving for a car we have not had much money to go shopping for the baby. We have bought some clothing, some stuffed animals, some pant, and a baby book. But other then that the babies room needs a lot more. The only reason I am telling you all of this is not for you to fell bad for us but for you to know that whatever help you can give us would be much appreciated.

We have been doing a lot of price shopping, so we know what kind of things we like for the baby. And they are: a pack and play(has a built in play yard, a bassinet, a changing station, and a modile), a changing table/dresser combo, a convertible crib (at least a 2-1 crid to toddler bed), bouncy, boppy for feeding, highchair, traveling stroller (it has a stroller and a car seat that can go right into the stroller for easy transportation), glider for the babies room (black, green, tan, blue, or yellow), baby carrier(on the belly), breast pump, baby bottles, diapers, etc.. I am registered at target and at Babies'r'us for little Wyatt.

If you are afraid to buy my something because you think I might get doubles and you can tell everyone to go online and order something, if they are planing on ordering, or you can always send money. We love money because we can then get exactly what we want and we can get it when we want. But gifts are more then welcome. I don't want to sound despite but we would love the support anyway you can give it.

Because I am away from home and from family, I feel like my son is going to miss out on a very important part of my life, my family. So even just pictures of yourself and your families would be amazing.

With All Our Love,
Kari D. Deeds and Michael L. Deeds.

I feel fine, I'm kind of tired because of the baby kicking all night long. But I am starting to get used to it. And on top of the baby keeping me up, I have been working long hours because of the hurrican... Fort Polk didn't get much damage but we were the hurrican relief. So we had to be ready for a mission if we got one, which we ended up not getting. I'm tring to play catch up but it doesn't seem to work, it just makes me more tired. I am pretty busy, but I am tring not to let my nesting get the best of me at least until I am released by my unit. Hopefully that will happen sometime in OCT.
