December 16, 2008 at 17:04, or for you non-military people that's 5:04 pm, Wyatt Lee Deeds entered the world. He weighed 8lbs and 4 oz., was 20 inches long, and came out just blaring and ready to take on the world.
Sorry there are no birthing photos--Michael forgot the camera! (Not that I could put those photos on the internet anyway). But here he is just after. Look at my beautiful boy!
Okay, the true story is Michael didn't forget the camera...we just didn't have time to grab it. My water broke and 34 minutes later my son was born! He sure knew what he wanted.
The hospital was quite an adventure...we were there for 48 hours because of some scares about infection, but we are home now and everyone is well.
He has had his first check up and all is well. I am feeling tired, but happy and proud! He is worth
every minute of lost sleep!
On Friday, my dad, Michelle and Andrea arrived to welcome him and we had an early Christmas. It was a surprise and a blessing. For those that know my dad, you can believe that he was too excited to wait and just started handing us presents. It was a great moment, surrounded by my family.
Today, I took my visitors shopping and for a brief tour of the base. I just finished giving Wyatt his first bath, and he demonstrated his powerful lungs!
For now, we are all fighting over face time with the baby...no one can seem to hold him enough. Thank you for all the gifts, cards, and well wishes. We love you all and can't wait for you to meet our new bundle of joy!
